 I am aghast!

Aghast I tell you.

A "new" report https://www.newstalkzb.co.nz/news/national/could-happen-tomorrow-government-warned-of-chances-of-catastrophic-earthquake/ suggest New Zealand is vulnerable to a natural event that may cause problems.

New?

As a schoolboy way back when we strode alongside dinosaurs on the way to school the talk of the town was about a catastrophic earthquake or tidal wave (the Japanese fellow was unknown back then) striking New Zealand causing problems.

We had two.

One caused a bit of mayhem in Lyttleton harbour (in Teddington the bar had to close - genuine catastrophe), the other caused row-boats in Ferrymead and the mudflats to swim about a bit.

But the potential earthquake was always present. When Mr Nordmier or Kiwi Keith or even Mr Muldoon was reigning supreme some even prayed for the that earthquake to hit "The Shaky Isles".

Alas it never did and Wellington, despite it's best efforts, has not been shaken out of existence or washed into the sea

The "new" report suggests similar things may happen.

Please forgive the unsteady hand typing this report, the shaking in my boots is rising higher.
