Drones

 I note that New Zealand is being urged to arm it's Military with "drones".

Despite this suggestion coming from a schoolteacher domiciled at the communist enclave of Massey University I partially agree.

Drones are a lower cost alternative with which to threaten the odd foreign fishing boat attempting to compete with the local "Maori" for fish most New Zealanders can't afford to eat anyway. Gotta protect those "Maori" fraudsters!

Any country able to mount any larger threat to New Zealand will just overwhelm us, brushing aside any New Zealand Military attempts to defend "our shores". 

The New Zealand Military are, of course, the same people who can't drive a boat past an innocent country, hitting it (the country) instead.

 Only partially though because New Zealand will be equally served by simply attaching wings to appropriately folded $100 notes and flying them at any aggressor.

 The headline: 

'Everything just happened so fast': Dad captures moment car skids off black ice

A useful story that reminds every driver of rural roads that it has been a wetter than most winter on the east coast and is cold. Black ice can be a hazard in any shaded spot.

It was the headline that attracted me. 

I have slid on black ice several times over the years, both while driving and while walking. Sometimes as a quick slip, sometimes a longer, rather attention-grabbing slide. Luckily I have never damaged either my vehicle or myself while out of control.

I have met several who have.

Every time I have encountered black ice, every time I remember anyway, it has been the slowness in which the utter helplessness has unfolded that has been most concerning - particularly in a vehicle.

Sitting for what seems like an eternity waiting for the vehicle to stop so that  control can be retrieved is one of the worst feelings ever.

Nothing in that experience ever happened "so fast"!

 Is it the time for fucking stupid statements?

1: Read Mike's Minute on NZH this morning I note a repeat of a comment seen quite often over the last week or two that the next British Prime Minister (The bloke who runs the place) is "unelected by Britain".

Of course he bloody is!

Britain, like New Zealand, Australia and a few other countries DO NOT ELECT a bloke to run the place. They elect a Government (or in the case of New Zealand a shower of shit selected from narrow-interest groups who MAY form a Government)

Burnham will be a duly elected MP who has been elected by his peers to lead the Pom Labour Party and, as they currently form the Government, he will be, by default, the Prime Minister.

This is as close as Kingdoms get to electing a 2IC. 

2: On a blog a few days ago I read a comment that the troller could not criticise an immigration policy because it (the commenter) was "descended for immigrants" At least 99.999999999999999999999% of the planet are descended from immigrants. If there actually is a single human not "descended from immigrants" he/she will be in deepest, darkest Africa (and unlikely to be commenting or reading a minor New Zealand blog.

The country's in trouble when even the trolling is substandard. 

Reduce Political Interferance

ACT have presented the idea that Government should be reduced. One column about this. I agree.

Unfortunately, after that idea there appears to be no real path to do so. The main blockage on any path is and will always be Government itself.

A Suggested Solution:

a: Hang every second politician, every third "Civil" servant. The Planet will thank you.

b: Make the survivors legally and actually, by means of capital and corporal punishment, responsible for the action of ALL Government actors under their control, employees and representatives alike.

c: Allow politicians to administer capital and corporal punishment on relevant employees of the State to achieve their aims. 

The State must be made to work for the populace and deliver results based on voters' wishes and only by demanding that representatives represent can this be achieved.

The immediate cessation of any party "whipping" of politicians in Parliament and the demand that politicians represent their electorate (and can prove so) will assist in this matter but only if their are very real penalties for failure.

d: Make ALL punishments under this scheme public - the Country could do with an increase in light entertainment of the comedic type.
