Artemis II

 The headline:

Artemis II crew in tears after breaking Apollo 13 record by travelling 248,655 miles from Earth

I notice I had to go offshore to find news reports beyond the basic for this mission. I suspect this is yet another case of NZ's msm refusing to report anything that may show the Trump Presidency in a good light.

Back to the headline: I've been watching both the "mission" and the publicity surrounding it with both interest and amusement.

Even the word "mission" carries connotation the event struggles to justify.

The astronauts are simply passengers, tourists if you will, on a vehicle travelling on a pre-set course around the Moon. Fancy cameras and i-phones record their boredom for posterity.

They are there to make sure things work for when the real stuff (creating a moon-base) starts.

NASA drive the capsule and create any records, the crew do little that is not make-work to fill in their time.

I hope I live to see the start, at least, of the moon-base: THAT will be a mission to watch!
