My attempt at serious comment, probably my one and only attempt

I have been watching, with some amusement, the happenings in the USA; particularly the start of the Presidential election cycle.

The amusement has dissipated slightly.

The Dems appear stuck with a brain-dead (at best) old man a- there simply are no credible alternatives - and the GOP, adept at turning victory into defeat at every opportunity are, once again, stuck with Trump.

Trump, of course has already won twice - I doubt anyone with a functioning brain believes those thousands of election swinging votes came in in the dead of the night after counting originally confirmed Trump.

He will struggle to win a third time but the prospect of Joe or Kamala in the Whitehouse for four more years will probably swing it his way defeating even the corruption.

I won't vote either way.

I can't. I ain't a Seppo.

Trump will be a good thing for the USA but not particularly good for the rest of the free World.

Trump will make NATO stand on it's own feet, he'll adjust trade deals so the USA is not disadvantaged, particularly by adversaries, and he'll once again be a peacemaker. His first Presidency seemed to be based on the idea that you don't trade with enemies so if any country (e.g. N Korea) was offered a chance at trade they would/could become non-threatening if not friends.

Trump, incidentally also recognised that the Middle-east and parts East of there had nothing to offer that would mitigate their mysticism and ignored them.

Not an idiot internationally was Trump.

But....................... there had to be a "but'

Wandering around NZ you can't avoid them, given the space they take up.

I diverge, But, not Butt.

But .....I would prefer to see Trump withdraw.

Withdraw, naming De Santis as his preference.

Trump, will always be divisive. The Dems will never forgive him for seeing the Light. Becoming the real enemy - GOP.

DeSantis is today's man. Smart, a proven leader, particularly when his people needed a leader and an overall Good Guy.

To this non-voter DeSantis is the perfect Man (Note the capital) to lead the Free World for the next eight years.

I hope Trump finally sees sense and does the right thing by his country. I believe that he is a big enough man to do so.

May the Gods prove me right!

A heartfelt Plea

When you look at newspapers from a time that newspapers were paper tools for delivering news, the first thing that strikes you is even the front page contained just news.

Only the odd line drawing advertisement broke the page, even when the news was dramatic and relevant.

Photographs were reserved for either inside sections or, occasionally, a special added outer-sheet designed to be removed to get at the news sections.

I miss those times.

I usually read the news in the mornings when drinking coffee, eating breakfast (or both), on-line. Every story, every item I click on is accompanied by a photograph.

Sometimes (i.e. Mr Musk's latest rocket test results) that photograph is both useful and topical but 99.999999999% of the time the photograph is a headshot of a fucking politician, often one who is not even relevant to the story. Always a grinning, ugly, pathetic publicity-type shot, usually altered to look positive or negative depending on whether the editor agrees with that person's politics.

Mr Publisher, I know what Biden, Trump, the communist c*&t, the whinging Ginger, Luxon etc. look like. Reminding me simply spoils the coffee/breakfast - one of the very few pleasures in this old man's day.

Mr Newspaper Publisher, Mr Editor, instead of this visual obscenity fill the gap up with more news. I realise this will probably mean your content will need to extend beyond the communist propaganda you now present exclusively but it could well be worth it.

I might start buying your newspaper again.

Election thought

Having read around the internet about the American election I can only come to the conclusion that Trump was voted for by the largest number of humans ever to cast a vote for any presidential candidate in the history of the United States of America.

I doubt they being denied their choice will cause as much trouble, slime anguish and woke wankery as the left showed when their candidate was legitimately (and correctly for any thinking person) defeated four years ago.

My query now is will president-elect Harris lead the Western no-longer-free World into a series of local wars or one big world-wide conflict?

National = Trump?

The MSM attack on National continues unabated.

Innuendo through to outright lies are presented as headlines through most of the NZ MSM sites, Judith of course, the main target.

Only Trump, telling the truth for a change, gets similar negative feed - while his senile opponent gets a free ride.

You'd think we got to vote in both elections. 😊

Those in-house polls must be frightening indeed for the current clowns and their masters!
